Time is usually the reason people call. An inspection next week, an open home on Saturday, a handover date that does not move. Here is how long each step takes on our repairs across Sydney, from the first photo to the finished surface.
Step one: the quote, within one business day
Send us a photo of the damage. One close up with a coin next to it for scale, and one from further back so we can see the whole surface. That is enough to price most jobs. We reply with a fixed written quote within one business day. If it is urgent, send the photos on WhatsApp and tell us the date you are working to.
Step two: booking
Once you accept the quote, we book a time. We work around your inspection date, your open home or your handover. On commercial sites we work after hours and on weekends where the program needs it.
Step three: the repair itself
Most repairs are finished in one visit. How long the visit takes depends on the surface and the damage.
| Repair | Time on site | Ready for use |
|---|---|---|
| Chip on a stone or laminate benchtop edge | Part of a day | Same day with care, full use the next day |
| Burn mark on laminate | Part of a day | Same day with care |
| Dull patch re-polished on stone | Part of a day | Same day |
| Hole or dent in a wall, colour matched | Part of a day | Same day. Avoid touching the patch until it is dry |
| Chipped cabinet door or door edge | Part of a day, several doors in a day | Same day with care |
| Scratched floorboards, spot repair | Part of a day to a day, depending on the area | Foot traffic the next day |
| Scratch polished out of glass or stainless steel | Part of a day | Same day |
| Water ring or scratch on a timber table | Part of a day | Same day with care, no hot dishes for a few days |
| Full French polish of a dining table | Several sessions over more than one visit | After the final coat cures |
| Builder defect list | Scheduled against the program, room by room | Per item, as each closes |
"Part of a day" means we are usually in and out in a few hours. "With care" means the surface can be used but not scrubbed, soaked or loaded with heat until the finish has hardened. We tell you the exact times for your job in the quote.
What slows a repair down
- Curing. Fillers and finishes need time to harden before they are sanded and polished. We work in stages within the visit, but some finishes need to cure overnight. That is why a table we French polish takes more than one visit.
- Old repairs. A chip filled with epoxy or glue has to be ground out before we start. It adds time.
- Access. A wall behind a wardrobe or a benchtop under a pile of moving boxes. Clear the area before we arrive and the job is faster.
- Many items. A defect list across a whole building is scheduled room by room. We report back as items close.
What speeds it up
- Send both photos with the first message, and the date you are working to.
- Tell us what the surface is if you know it. Brand and colour help.
- Clear the area around the damage before we arrive.
- Book a week or more ahead of an inspection or a handover, so there is time for the finish to cure.
After the repair
We check every repair in daylight and clean the area before we leave. The repair is guaranteed and you get care notes for the surface. Then you use it like normal, with a board, a trivet and a soft cloth.
